Court Street Alleyway Improvement Project to Begin May 26
The Conway Transportation Department is preparing to begin construction on the Court Street Alleyway Improvement Project in Downtown Conway.
The project will be contained within the city block bordered by Oak, Court, Main, and Chestnut streets, with alleyway entrances accessible from each corridor. Corner anchors surrounding the block include Brick & Forge Taproom, The Rogue Roundabout, Emerge, and Jenifer’s Antiques, placing the project within one of downtown’s active commercial corridors.
Improvements will include seating, parking, centralized sanitation receptacles, landscaping, public art, and lighting. The project is intended to improve downtown connectivity and create a more inviting public space for people walking between downtown businesses and other downtown destinations.
Construction is scheduled to begin May 26 and be completed by the end of 2026.
During construction, public parking will be unavailable in the project area, and the alleyway will be closed to pedestrians. There may also be times when sidewalks near the project area are temporarily blocked. No major road closures are expected.
Fureigh Construction will serve as the contractor for the project.
Residents and visitors should plan ahead when visiting Downtown Conway.
